Kill Rock Stars Label
Kill Rock Stars is an indie label co-founded by and in Olympia, Washington. Moon had intended for this to be his outlet to release his spoken word 'Wordcore' seven inch records but being in an area of the country that is so rich in music, he couldn't help but expand into musical realms. When he left the label at the end of 2006 (to do A&R for ), they gained the distinction of being one of few U.S. Indie labels to have an all-female full-time staff. This label has been home to, and as well as many other Riot Grrl/Indie/Punk Rock legends.NOTE: Most KRS releases have exactly the same Catalog number for the CD and Vinyl versions of the same release, with albums and singles together, in the same 3-digit sequence. If you are adding or updating a CD, and the same release is already in the database on vinyl (or vice versa), you will see a warning about a duplicate. There is no need to change the Catalog number to avoid this warning, just tick the box and mention it in the Submission Notes. For consistency: Please do not add 'LP' or 'CD' to the Catalog number if it does not appear that way on the release!

This label is responsible for me getting into spoken word as a young punk kid, we're talking Lydia Lunch, Kathleen Hanna, Exene Cervenka, Miranda July, Kathy Acker, and the list goes on and on. And I should mention Steven Jesse Bernstein that was released on Sub Pop was a huge influence as well.
Then they started releasing the full-on riot punk music that complimented all the nice hardcore music that was going on in the early 90s as well. This is the label that spawned Kathleen Hanna that would give us Julie Ruin and Le Tigre, the latter which is still making waves today.
This label is just an all-around good example of how to become an indie rock legend!
