Streets Of Rage Remake
Submitted on 9/14/2017 Review title of Fooman12No Nostalgia: Just Enjoyed ItPicked this up on sale despite being a Final Fight guy, & for the most part, I now get why people really love these games. The pacing of enemy fights is solid, with a decent variety of goons to pummel almost constantly. The presentation is pretty good as well, peaking with big sprites & a thumping soundtrack in the great second game. While some bosses are very cheap, the anytime save system really can help you take them down or quckly get back in the game after running out of continues. Also, control could be tighter across the board but feels good overall, with a solid mix of moves to give each character a distinct feel.
It's a shame the third installment weighs down the collection with horrible music and detailed but otherwise eyesore sprites. Enemy damage seems to be ramped up here as well, as even basic thugs can work you over with just a couple combos. The first two games are much more fair, but this one was a pain to play.

The Streets of Rage series was never really “kids” stuff, but SORR feels like a step closer to the Dark Knight moment franchises inevitably face at one point or another. Streets of Rage had been left on the shelf so long that its audience, and subsequently the developers of SORR, were able to extrapolate on the series’ darker themes. Still, a worthy collection for both genre & series fans. Submitted on 4/13/2019 Review title of BatmanXgrBest Streets of Rage Collection EVER!All 3 SOR games in one with US, UK and JP versions of the games.
That means you can play the Original SOR3 JP version that was altered for US market!! Sonic Ultimate collection doesn't have the JP version of SOR3. This is the only way to play it on todays Consoles with amazing visuals. Other than that, amazing series from the 16bit days that offers straight forward gameplay and amazing music by Yuzo Koshiro. If youre a old school gamers that has a SEGA Genesis? This collection will make your Genesis version look outdated.

I kinda hi-jacked somebody else's thread with this question about Streets of Rage Ramake and don't really have an answer quite yet. I posted it to the SoRR forum as well..no answer. Posted it to the GitHub of the guy who ported SoRR to the Pi as well..no answer. So I'm hoping you all can help me with these questions about SoRR:
1.) How do you save?
2.) How to restore a save game?
3.) Is there only 1 save game slot?
4.) Can you save at any point in time?
I'm also looking for any info on OpenBor (which is open source Streets of Rage type engine - famous for Beats of Rage I think..). OpenBOR hasn't been working in RetroPie since version 3.7 or 3.8 I believe..and I don't even think it was an option to install in the experimental menu, BUT I saw it pop-up in RetroPie 4.1. I can copy my .PAK to the ports/openbor folder, but running '/opt/retropie/ports/openbor/extract.sh' like the GitHub says does nothing.
