I am on Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (tried a build onto a CF-19 MK1 from a WDS image of a CF-19 MK5.Everything works - Display rotation tool, buttons, etc., but I get 3 Pop-up warnings when starting up.Regarding similar forum answer: This does not seem to be related to Steady State at all. I don't even think 'steady state' exists on this system.Model: CF-19CDBAXVM (MK1)BIOS: 1.00L13EC (Embedded Controller): 1.00L11Original os: O/S: XP SP3 Tablet Ed - New o/s: Wiped/rebuilt via WDS withWindows 7 Pro SP1 32-bit. Note: new WDS source image is from a newer purchased MK5 CF-19A? System.I notice on XP, the 'c:util2' folder is where Panasonic utils reside, but on the Win7 MK5 system, 'c:util' is the folder.Really we are taking our MK1 XP Toughbooks and laying down W7 Pro 32-bit on them. It's too huge an investment in our existing Toughbooks to just toss out the XP models and start buying $100,000.00+ in new inventory, just to run Windows 7.Three 'one-time Pop-ups' happen right at startup/first login for the following 3 items:Display Rotation Tool, Power Plan Extension Utility & Concealed Mode Utility. The pop-up message is: 'Access to Panasonic Misc Driver was unsuccessful.
Confirm whether the Panasonic Misc Driver is available.' One forum mentioned 'device info' regarding pointing maybe to the wrong location? The pop-ups do not appear to affect functionality, but are a huge annoyance for our users.' Touch screen' does NOT work, but Pen, Rotate button, etc. Work just fine. FYI, we don't need touch screen really. No 'bangs' in the Device Manager, either.
No drivers to speak of, directly available from Panasonic for W7 Pro for the MK1. They have some Vista drivers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've heard of some folks getting W7 to work - unsupported doesn'tmatter, as long as it works.Has anyone had success with moving their CF-19 MK1 Toughbooks to Windows 7 and/or getting rid of these pop-ups?Thanks!tnjman. I have a cf-19 with win7 installed that works 100%. First thing: use the mk3 drivers because it is very similar to mk1 and has specific win 7 drivers. Second: the misc driver is a layer to whom a lot of drivers connect.
Hotkeys ecc ecc).It looks like that panasonic decided to do common apps for their computer that connect to a customized misc driver rather than directly to the hardware. It is important.
You should uninstall some drivers ( i don t remember wich but in internet you can findthem) and then install the misc driver of the mk3 and reinstall the drivers. The bestdrivers and support section is in the canadian toughbook site. The gps is confused by the plug and play win 7 routine with a trackball ( yoiu will se your pointer runningaround the screen like crazy)and so you have to switch it off in the bios before installing w7. Then you need a pnp unabler program ( you will find a lot of them on the internet searching for nmea gps windows 7). After win 7 is installed you need to run thisprogram and select the com port of the gps and disable new hardware search.
Sorry for bad english. I am italian AlexNb: buy 4mb ram and install them if you reaay want to use win7 it will cost 50 usd and the difference is huge.
